The Monstera lechleriana originated from the rainforests of Central America. This plant is a close relative to the Monstera adansonii, this explains why they are quite to each other in appearance. The only difference is that its fenestrations are much smaller and closer to its central veins.
Light – Never put this plant under direct sunlight as it will burn their leaves. If you want to place it near a window, use a sheer curtain to protect it from the harmful rays of the sun. They can tolerate lower levels of light but growth may slow down.
Water – Water these plants deeply every 1 to 2 weeks. Allow their soil to dry out between sessions. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
They can go by with normal room humidity, but they thrive better in humid conditions. To provide them with this, you can mist them every now and then during the mornings or place their pot on top of a pebble tray with little water.
Growth – Given proper care and all the right conditions, these plants can grow up to 10 inches tall. They are best paired with a simple, white ceramic planter.
WARNING – These plants can be toxic to small animals, keep them away from pets.
