Lucky Plants That Bring Good Luck and Fortune

Pachira Aquatica

This plant is also known as the Money Tree Plant. It is said to invite good fortune, wealth, and prosperity. It’s a species of tree in the genus Pachira and it belongs to the family Malvaceae. This tree is often braided together. For it to be considered lucky, it needs three to five braided plants. On top of that, it must also have five or more fingers. 

Make sure to put the tree in your money and health area. Place it somewhere with plenty of indirect light. This tree loves moisture but never allow it to sit in wet soil. Water consistently at least once a week. 

The Lucky Bamboo

Don’t let the name fool you, though this plant may look like bamboo, it's not in the same family as a 'true' one. Though this plant can grow up to 3.2ft, shorter variations of it are preferred in Feng Shui. 

It is said that the lucky bamboo is great for inviting fortune, happiness, and prosperity. As per Chinese tradition, the significance of this plant depends on how many stalks you have. They are best placed in your wealth and money or health and family Bagua areas.

This plant is easy to maintain. They can be grown in either soil or water. They grow best in bright, indirect light. You may need to cut the stems back every so often. Doing so will help in directing its energy back into the stalk and leaves.

The Jade Plant

Jade plants from the genus Crassula, more specifically the Crassula ovata, is known to help bring prosperity and good fortune. Its coin-shaped leaves symbolize wealth, thus earning its title as a Money Plant. The best places for these plants are east locations for family harmony and health. For wealth luck, it’s best to place them in southeast locations. Don’t place them in bedrooms or bathrooms. 

The Jade plant is a type of succulent with tree-like stems and smooth branches. They have fleshy jade green leaves. These are hardy plants. They can tolerate light shade, but they need full sun to grow properly. Do not water them on a schedule but rather, only when the top of the soil is dry to the touch. 

Pilea Peperomioide

Much like the Jade Plant, the Pilea Peperomioide is also called the “Chinese Money Plant” for its leaves. The round, shiny foliage is like that of a coin. This plant is known to bring good luck, money, and prosperity. This plant is best placed in the “wealth” area of the home. 

This plant is an easy one to maintain. It thrives best in medium to bright indirect light. Water every 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the temperature and humidity. Allow the soil to dry between watering sessions. 

Peace Lilly

The Peace lily is a popular plant among the community for its elegant, large green leaves and charming white flowers. The very sight of it can create a harmonious atmosphere in the room. These plants are known to bright good luck and fortune. Some may even say that it has strong protective and cleansing vibration. They’re the perfect place for bedrooms and office spaces. 

A peace lily is easy to take care of. Make sure that it doesn’t come into contact with direct sunlight. Put them somewhere with medium light. Give them a drink once a week as they prefer to keep their soil moist but never wet. 

The Rubber Plant

The rubber plant, also known as the Ficus elastica, is known to attract wealth, prosperity, and good luck. Following feng shui, plants with rounded leaves are associated with positive energy. It’s best placed in the wealth Bagua of the home. You may also place it in awkward corners to soften its sharp angles.

These plants love bright light but like most houseplants, they don’t like direct sunlight. Keep them near a sunny window with a sheer curtain. In terms of watering, rubber plants prefer to have their soil dry out between sessions. 

Citrus Tree

Citrus trees are considered lucky trees that may attract money and good luck. According to Fengshuied, back in ancient times, Mandarin oranges were used as annual tribute gifts. At that time, oranges were treated as a symbol of wealth. However, to the long travel and shelf-life of this fruit, most of them would go bad by the time they reach the capital. Eventually, the fruits were then transported in the form of potted plants so that they’re fresh and ripe when they reach the capital. 

This tree can adapt to lower light conditions. But if you want them to fruit, it will need direct sunlight for 5 to 6 hours a day. Water them thoroughly and allow the soil to dry between watering. They are best placed in any of the wealth sections of the Bagua.

Potted Orchids

These plants are a symbol of happiness, fertility, and creativity. It enhances luck when it comes to the family. Different colors of orchids can bring different kinds of energy. White orchids can be put in the children and creativity area. If they are pink with two stems, you may place them in the love area. For yellow, the center and health area. Then lastly, the purple ones you can locate in the wealth area of the Bagua.

Orchid needs a lot of light. They should get about 12 to 14 hours of light every day. If you don’t have an area with much light, it can grow happily in artificial lights, no more the 6-8 inches away from the lamps. Though they can tolerate drought quite well, you’ll want to water your orchids once a week.  

Snake Plant

The sansevieria gets a lot of bad rep among the feng shui practitioners due to its sword-like appearance. On the other hand, others have said that it’s also beneficial for providing protective energy into the space. However, this all depends on where the plant is positioned. 

You may want to place your plant on the balcony or outdoor to create a protective barrier. Don’t bring them indoors, especially in bedrooms. 

These plants are very hardy. They can survive in low light conditions and even in full sun. Water them sparsely and allow the soil to dry between sessions.

Golden Pothos

This plant is one of the hardiest plants that are perfect for beginners. It’s known can survive in places with minimal light and water. It’s a good luck plant that can bring wealth and good fortune to your home. 

Some sources say that, in feng shui, the pothos can also be used as a protective barrier from any killing energy. If a pothos dies without any known reason or cause, the area may be harboring negative energy. 

A pothos can thrive easily on neglect, and they’re pretty forgiving even when you forget to water them. Just make sure to place the plant somewhere with indirect sunlight and water moderately, allowing the soil to dry in between sessions.
